Donatella Versace isn’t afraid of celebrity designers

Since the birth of the celebrity fashion scene it seems high-street stores worldwide have been inundated with celebrity designer collections.

At the launch of her new home collection last week, Ms. Versace said she wasn’t scared at the prospect of celebrity designers wearing their own merchandise instead of hers, by stating, “Music stars wear Versace -” making it clear her high-end creations will always be loved by the rich and famous.

She then added she didn’t feel a lot of skillful creativity went into the celebrity creations, reports The Cut – but who cares right? It’s only the mass consumers that wear the clothes anyway…

“Some of these collections are for cheaper, mass market fashion. I don’t think that creativity is there,” said Donatella.

A 20-year-old Oklahoma woman named Angelina Barnes had a different idea. Police say Barnes drowned her family’s beloved 15-year-old tabby cat, scratched out its eyes, cut it open and removed its liver.

A relative came home to find Barnes shrouded in darkness, (the light switches had been covered with duct tape “so she wouldn’t be able to turn on the light”). Barnes was wearing a long coat with streaks of the cats blood on her face. The liver was found in a makeup case on the bathroom counter. Barnes reportedly asked for help and is currently being treated in a hospital where she threatened a nurse with a piece of glass. It’s going to be a long recovery.

Its only been a month since John Galliano was ousted from his job as creative director and couturier at Dior, but today it seems he’s also been let go from the label that bears his name. WWD reports that the board of the 17-year-old John Galliano label, 91 percent of which is owned by Christian Dior, met recently and decided to fire the British designer. There are also reports that the company has received unsolicited offers to buy the label from “interested parties” in Italy, China and the Middle East. Sale of the company is understood not to be “an immediate priority.”

Last month, Galliano came under a firestorm of media scrutiny after it was reported that he’d drunkenly harassed a couple outside of a bar in Paris, using anti-Semitic slurs to insult them.

Once again the human reliance on social networking sites has come to a head .
Twitter is down!
I’m guessing that about 30% of twitter users during this time have cried.
Not me though.
I’ve spent this time designing and figuring out my next step. I’ve reworked my goals set for this year. I’ve also had a mini day dream.
However at this moment in standstill time I’m beginning to get pissed off. I had so much to tweet, then the bastards shutdown!
Maybe this is good for me So I cam refocus on the important stuff……
